Physical Therapy Modalities are treatment tools that can assist a physiotherapist in Mumbai to relieve pain, improve circulation, decrease swelling, reduce muscle spasm as well as improve the body’s overall ability to heal. These modalities have various mechanisms of action, from increasing or decreasing tissue temperature, to stimulating our nervous system or muscle tissue. They provide short-term relief and stimulation, which allows us to continue moving and functioning as comfortably as possible until the root cause is identified and fixed.
Some of the most commonly used Physical Therapy Modalities in a physiotherapist in Mumbai practice include:
Ultrasound is widely used for many types healing process, some of most commonly used by physiotherapist in Mumbai are Fracture Healing, Thrombus Dissolution, and Plantar Fasciitis and Epicondylitis treatments.
Physiotherapist uses Ultrasound machines over an injured area. The Transducer produces Ultrasound waves which produce heat on tendons, muscles and other soft tissues.
Physiotherapist in Mumbai uses Low Level Laser Therapy to treat Musculoskeletal Condition. LLLT is most advanced technique used in physiotherapy treatment. LLLT reduces the physiotherapy time, it is very effective in pain relief and increase circulation in damage cells.
In Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) is a therapy that uses low-voltage electrical current for symptomatic pain relief. Physiotherapist uses TENS machines on affect part of body for few minutes in day. Continuous usage of TENS reduce the pain and heal damage cells.
IFS machine produces electrical currents (~4000HZ) which pass through the affected area of the patient. IFC machine tends to penetrate deeper than other electrical modalities and has a number of physiological effects that have therapeutic value.
Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation uses a type of electrical current that can cause a single muscle or a group of muscles to contract. This can be useful to assist in muscle strengthening, as well as maintenance of muscle mass and strength during periods of prolonged immobilization, for example after being in a cast due to a fracture.
Paraffin wax is used to apply moist heat to hands or feet to ease pain and stiffness. This type of heat therapy treatment is a good choice for people with arthritis or other rheumatic diseases – the heat helps to increase blood flow and relax muscles.
Thermotherapy or Heat Therapy, is the use of heat in therapy. The therapeutic effects of heat include increasing extensibility of soft tissues, decreasing joint stiffness, reducing pain, relieving muscle spasms, and increasing blood flow to speed up the healing process.
Cryotherapy, or cold therapy, is the use of cold in therapy. In theory, the therapeutic effects of cold include local analgesia (decrease pain), constriction of blood vessels to help decrease edema, and decrease muscle spasms.
There are some very good physio therapists. They take care of their patients and aid in their recovery from illness. I only gave them a four-star rating because I was dissatisfied with the size of the clinic, the level of congestion, and the outdated nature of the beds and clinic.
If not, they deserve 5 stars
I went for foot therapy and was very impressed with the knowledge of my therapist and all the instruments they have , the only thing I would recommend is if they can start early by an hour to allow for working people to come to the clinic
I went for an knee ACL degenerations.. Very happy with th treatment given by the physio.. Extremely good recovery without meds..Spending almost 45 minutes with each client.. Good work Dr.
